Cherry Knoll Pleasant Elsa lauded at Atlantic National show

TIMONIUM, Md. (June 3, 2014) — The grand champion female of the open show, Cherry Knoll Pleasant Elsa, a January 2012 daughter of S A V Brilliance 8077, exhibited by Logan Wright of Philippi, W. Va., took supreme champion honors at the 28th Atlantic National Angus Show held May 22-25 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds.
She is out of Cherry Knoll Elsa 8014 and was also the grand champion female of the Atlantic National Junior Owned Heifer Show.
The grand champion bull of the 2014 Atlantic National Angus Show, Wright SCC Bootlegger 0522, was also the grand champion bull of the 2013 Atlantic National Angus Show last year.
He is also by S A V Brilliance 8077 and is owned by Logan Wright.
He is a February 2012 son of SCC Phyllis 052.
The reserve grand champion female of the open show was Q V S Georgina 4142, exhibited by Jake Smith of Cullman, Ala.
She is a February 2012 daughter of S A V Bravo 8320, out of Champion Hill Georgina 1949.
The reserve grand champion bull was an added entry.
Grand champion cow with natural calf in the open show was WA Emblynette 165, a 2011 daughter of Leachman Saugahatchee 3000C, out of S A V Emblynette 8113, shown by Justin Wood of Willow Spring, N.C., and the reserve champion was Freys KJF Arkpride M35 U108, by G 13 Stand Out and out of K J F Pride K32-M35, exhibited by Fred Christian Frey of Drumore, Pa., and calved in September 2009.
Champion Hill Farm of Bidwell, Ohio, was the Premier Breeder.
In the Atlantic National Junior Show, the grand champion bred and owned bull was another added entry from Mathew Mitchell of Reinholds, Pa.
The reserve grand champion was SCC First Choice 326, by Dameron First Class, and out of S C C Royal Blackbird 502, exhibited by Cade Stertzbach of Louisville, Ohio, a February 2013 calf.
The grand champion bred and owned heifer was Maplecrest Rita 2026, by Connealy Confidence 0100 and out of Maplecrest Rita M546, shown by Lauren Grimes of Hillsboro, Ohio, and calved in January 2012.
The grand champion owned heifer was the supreme champion of the show and the reserve grand champion owned heifer was DDA Barbara 1308, a February 2013 heifer by Dameron First Class and out of DDA Barbara 0901, shown by Eric Schafer of Owaneco, Ill.
The grand champion steer was Beaver Creek Bruiser D33, a 1,138 pound son of B C A Bismarck out of B C A Reba D53, calved April 2013, shown by J. Gordon Clark of Gretna, Va., and the Reserve Grand Champion Steer was FDE Addiction 306 by D V A B F Lucas McCain 810, a March 2013 calf out of FDE Ark Pride 095.
Broderick Fitzgerald of West Grove, Pa., exhibited the grand champion bred and owned steer in the Junior Show, a 1,256 pound son of Exar Lutton 1831 out of Cherry Knoll LSC Rosebud 401, calved in April 2013.
