Happy Presidents' Day! Did you know both Thomas Jefferson and Woodrow Wilson kept sheep at the White House? Wilson wanted to save taxpayers money by keeping the lawn "mowed" and the wool was sold to raise money for the Red Cross during WWl. Wilson wanted to set a good example of supporting the war effort, and over $50,000 was raised by the sale of their wool. That amount would be equal to over $833,000 today!
